Case Study 4 - UNISON/ health and social care trusts/ open university education programme.
This programme is aimed at all staff in health and social care disciplines, who are offered access to academic courses that increase skills, job opportunities and knowledge. Most of those involved would not usually consider university as an option but extra support is available and retention rates are higher than the UK average.

Case Study 6 - Citizen's Advice Bureau, ReachOut and Salford Mental Health Services CAB.
These three programmes all offer outreach services to find and tackle problems with debt, finance and benefits. This leads to positive outcomes in a wide range of areas, including health, work, and housing.

Case Study 7 - Mayor's Employment Project and Workplace (Newham)
The London Borough of Newham has set up the Mayor's Employment Project (MEP) to tackle their high levels of worklessness. Increased support is focussed on people who are hardest to help, such as those who have been out of work for over 3 years. Workplace is a one-stop-shop that includes the MEP and a range of other services.
